Last month, we proudly announced our first ever Textile Design Competition for all UK design students and recent graduates. At the time, we knew who we wanted on the judges’ panel but weren’t sure if all of them would want to/ be able to be on it.
We’re really pleased confirm that almost everyone we approached to be on this panel agreed! So now we have this fantastic mix of industry stakeholders ranging from interior designers, retailers and trade buyers, academics and journalists, who we hope will be able to encourage the students and recent grads participating in the competition and help them as they start their careers.
The judges’ panel now includes-
Diane Claridge- an independent interiors designer, whose clients are among the who’s who of London;
Ellie Tennant- Celebrated freelance interiors journalist, blogger and stylist, who specialises in trends, interviews, shopping, columns, news, lifestyle features, design and social media;
Toolika Gupta- Academic and fashion and textiles researcher, whose particular areas of interest include the history of textiles and fashion, especially Indian textiles, surface design techniques, sustainable and ethical fashion and fashion studies;
Tracy Kitching- Charming proprietor of the popular London curated home décor store, Opium;
Vaishali Sinha- Accomplished textile designer and manufacturer with her own design studio and manufacturing unit based near Delhi, India.
